Are you a proactive, solution-oriented legal professional who likes to be close to the business? At TWD, we are looking for a Legal Officer who enjoys working in a dynamic, international engineering environment and who wants to contribute to smart growth, well-balanced risk management, and high-quality legal support.

As Legal Officer, you will be a trusted sparring partner for the business, supporting projects from contract negotiation through execution, while helping TWD operate confidently across multiple jurisdictions.

As a Legal Officer at TWD, you play a key role in safeguarding TWD’s interests while enabling the business to move forward responsibly. You combine legal expertise with practical advice, helping teams navigate commercial, contractual, and compliance-related challenges.

You will work closely with project teams, management, and colleagues across disciplines, contributing directly to TWD’s strategic objectives and international growth.

What you will do

Contract & Risk management

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including NDA’s, client and supplier agreements, and freelance agreements.

  • Advise internal stakeholders on liabilities, indemnities, confidentiality and other contractual risk topics.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and TWD’s internal legal standards.

Project & Stakeholder engagement

  • Monitor the legal and contractual status of ongoing projects.

  • Support project teams throughout the project life cycle and take part in key moments.

  • Ensure follow up on open legal actions and decisions.

Compliance & Quality

  • Maintain and continuously improve legal policies, procedures and templates

  • Manage the contract management system, contributing to contract visibility, quality control, and consistent contract governance.

  • Contribute to data protection initiatives, AI Act readiness, and software licensing.

  • Monitor relevant legal and regulatory developments and translate them into practical guidance for the business.

  • Contribute to consistent, high quality legal support across the organization.

What makes you a great fit

You are a pragmatic legal professional who enjoys translating legal complexity into clear, workable solutions. You take ownership, communicate easily with non-legal colleagues, and are comfortable working in an international, technical environment.

Your background

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in law.

  • Relevant legal experience (in-house or law firm) is a plus.

  • Interest in commercial and contract law; exposure to international and cross-border work is an advantage.

  • Fluent in English; Dutch fluency is a strong advantage.

Your skills & mindset

  • Strong attention to detail and a clear interest in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating legal documents.

  • Able to understand legal concepts and apply them in a practical, business-oriented way.

  • Proactive, well-organized, and comfortable managing and prioritizing different tasks and topics.

  • Curious, eager to learn, and motivated to continuously develop your legal expertise and professional role.
