Objective of the role
As an Operational Manager at TWD, you are responsible for managing and delivering projects successfully while fostering the development and growth of your team members. Your role involves overseeing project reviews, ensuring the quality of deliverables, managing team dynamics, and promoting collaboration and cooperation across teams. With both managerial and organizational responsibilities, you focus on team management, project quality, and continuous development. You report to the Commercial manager, together you are responsible for the growth target of the team.
In the managerial aspect of your role, you supervise project reviews and manage the team by defining team structures, translating group strategies into team goals, reporting project status, and creating a positive working environment. You monitor team members’ well-being, ensuring a balance between productivity and job satisfaction. Additionally, you support the development of team members by recognizing their strengths and helping them grow through coaching, project assignments, and performance evaluations.
You contribute to business development by monitoring client satisfaction, identifying sales opportunities within projects, and guiding the team in writing quotations and executing ‘on-the-job sales.’ Through your leadership, you create a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the organization.
Jointly with the commercial manager, you are responsible for the short-, mid- and long-term growth of the department. You understand the competencies of your team and take the initiative to develop the team to be able to deliver. To do so, you will support and direct the team in the following responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Projects:
Ensuring good project management: good quality project management and execution.
Making sure that the project deliverables meet the required quality standards.
Supervision of Project Responsible, overseeing project reviews, and performing quality checks.
People & Team Management:
Managing the team effectively
Translate the group strategy into team goals (together with EM) and make sure the team is pursuing these goals.
Inspiring team members: motivating and inspiring the team.
Give responsibilities and tasks to individual team members, aligned with their strengths and development.
Development of team members: helping team members grow, help develop their skills.
Collaboration between teams: promoting teamwork and cooperation between different teams.
Sales / Business Development in projects:
Involvement in sales activities related to projects.
Developing yourself:
Continuously improve your skills and knowledge.
Qualifications (education and technical knowledge/expertise)
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field, including but not limited to Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Aerospace Engineering

Support and develop team members, including coaching on-the-job and mentoring abilities to guide team members in their growth. Provides feedback on team member performance.
Resilience; staying motivated and keeping the team focused during pick activity.
Delegation skills:
The ability to assign responsibilities and authority to the right team members, taking their interests, ambitions, development, and competency into account and following up on delegated tasks.
Business Development & Client Engagement
Commercial awareness:
Recognize sales opportunities in projects and guide sales efforts.
Looking at the tenders and management of the process to success
Ensure client satisfaction and long-term relationships.
Strategic thinking to align engineering efforts with business growth.
