Foundations Of Your Job 

As a Project Engineer Engineering Automation & Digital Solutions, you bridge the gap between engineering, software development, and AI. You work directly with clients, engineers, and software developers to turn complex engineering challenges into practical, scalable solutions.  

Our team is scaling up as demand grows for smarter ways to deliver engineering. You will help shape this development from client request and requirements through implementation, validation, and delivery.  

What digital solutions mean at TWD: 

• Engineering applications: Develop tailor-made, web-based tools using reusable Python libraries, calculation templates, and proven engineering methods.  

• Automation consulting: Work alongside clients to identify opportunities for engineering automation, AI adoption, and digital transformation. 

• Engineering automation projects: Develop reusable calculation methods and workflows that allow recurring engineering work to be delivered with less lead-time and increased quality. 

A glimpse of your responsibilities: 

• Project Execution & Delivery: Lead engineering automation projects towards maximum client impact within agreed scope, time, and budget.  

• Engineering Automation & Software Development: Transform engineering methodologies, calculations, and workflows into scalable digital solutions, engineering applications, and automation tools. 

• Client & Stakeholder Management: Understand client needs, define requirements, and communicate effectively with end users, specialists, project managers, and decision-makers.  

• Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Actively contribute to the further development of scalable digital solutions and inspire further improvement of TWD's Engineering Automation Platform, software ecosystem, and digital way of working.

You are the perfect match for TWD if you also have the following skills and experience: 

• A BSc or MSc degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Marine Technology, Offshore Engineering, or a similar technical discipline. 

• 2-4 years of experience in a client-facing engineering, consultancy, software, or engineering automation role. 

• A passion for both engineering and programming, and an eagerness to combine the two. 

• Experience translating client challenges into practical engineering or software solutions. 

• Knowledge of Python or similar programming languages. 

• A holistic mindset and the ability to connect engineering expertise, reusable knowledge, and technology. 

• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders at different levels. 

• An entrepreneurial attitude and the willingness to take ownership of projects and solutions. 

• Interest in working across engineering disciplines and exploring automation, AI, and digital engineering tools. 

Nice to have: 

• Experience with engineering applications, web applications, automation workflows, cloud platforms, or data analysis. 

• Affinity with offshore, marine, renewable energy, heavy lifting, transport, or civil engineering projects. 

• Familiarity with version control, testing, CI/CD, or product development.

• A salary starting from € 3,800 gross per month, depending on your experience
