Foundations of Your Job
As a Project Engineer R&D at TWD, you will manage product innovation projects in our Innovations department. You are responsible for the entire concept project, including engineering, designing, budgeting, planning, and leading project members. You take part in the development of new and groundbreaking methods and equipment needed for installing offshore wind turbines and marine-civil structures. You will be developing innovations over the spectrum of Technology Readiness Levels (TRL), including the lowest parts (Research and Development), but also mid-level (Mock-ups and setting up prototypes), up to end-level (Aiding in the design and calculations of full-scale tests).
A glimpse of your responsibilities:
Collect challenges and opportunities for TWD to innovate on, using brainstorms, joining conferences, seminars, etc.
Evaluate new ideas in terms of feasibility and market readiness
Perform conceptual engineering and design to showcase the potential of a new idea
Amaze ourselves and our clients by creating demonstrators, 3D prints, and other smart ways of making our ideas tangible
Collaborate with tender teams by contributing innovative concepts
You will performe structural verifications (Hand calculations / 1D FEM / Ansys Modelling)
What Makes You Great
You are an exceptionally analytic design engineer with a talent for concepting. You love to start a new idea from scratch and have fun making your ideas come to life. You feel comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment and love to showcase your ideas to others.
In addition, the following skills and experience make you the perfect match for TWD:
You have a Master’s degree in a technical field with a strong analytical background (e.g., Structural engineering, Aerospace engineering)
You have at least 2 years of working experience as an engineer in the offshore industry, focusing on concept
You have experience with client communication and managing your projects
You are a structural engineer
You are a sketcher and a visual thinker, it is a plus if you can work with software such as Inventor
You are a team player, you can translate ideas into concepts, working with colleagues and clients
You can define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines.
