Senior Infra & Security Engineer

  • On-site
    • Rotterdam, Zuid-Holland, Netherlands
  • €4,700 - €5,950 per month

Job description

Do you have a solid background in IT infrastructure and network management, and do you want to make our IT more secure and reliable? Are you looking for a hands-on role in which you take technical ownership, with the opportunity to grow into IT Lead? Then we are looking for you!

Foundations of Your Job

As Senior Infra & Security Engineer at TWD, you work with a compact IT team and external vendors to keep our IT environment reliable, secure and future-proof across all our offices. You are at home in infrastructure, networks, Microsoft 365 and access management. With that expertise, you work on our most important improvement goal: making our network and our data more secure. You report to the Technical Manager and work closely with our Software Engineering department. You work from our office in Rotterdam and occasionally visit our offices abroad.

A glimpse of your responsibilities:

  • Managing and improving networks and infrastructure across all our offices, and keeping the network documentation up to date

  • Analysing and solving complex incidents and configuration issues yourself, together with colleagues and external specialists

  • Monitoring the availability, capacity and security of systems and networks, following up on improvement actions and providing insight into performance and risks

  • Improving cybersecurity with practical measures such as Microsoft Defender, managed devices (Intune, MDM/MAM) and secure access management

  • Following up on security alerts and incidents with external partners, and supplying technical information for client audits

  • Governing identities and access rights in line with the IAM and PIM policy

  • Working with your IT colleagues to provide good support and clear, workable processes

  • Leading technical improvement projects from preparation to delivery, and automating recurring management tasks where possible

  • Managing vendors on the technical side and contributing to contracts, licences, procurement and renewals

  • Guiding colleagues on technical matters and sharing your knowledge

What Makes You Great

You combine technical knowledge with a practical approach. You understand how networks, workplaces, cloud environments and access management fit together, and you build security into your daily work. You look for the root cause of recurring problems and explain technical choices clearly. You don’t need to be a security specialist yet: you have a solid foundation, take responsibility and want to develop yourself and others further.

You are the perfect match for TWD if you also have the following skills and experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience

  • 3–5 years of relevant work experience with IT infrastructure and network management, for example as a system administrator or IT engineer

  • Practical knowledge of networks, firewalls and switches, and experience analysing and solving technical incidents

  • Experience with Microsoft 365, workplace management and identity and access management

  • Good knowledge of cybersecurity and secure system management; experience with Microsoft Defender and Intune is an advantage

  • Experience with project coordination, guiding colleagues or managing vendors is a plus

  • Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus

At TWD you can develop further in securing our IT environment and grow into the IT Lead role. Together with the Technical Manager, you will expand your responsibilities step by step: from technical projects and guiding colleagues to day-to-day management, vendor management and team leadership. You will get room for targeted training and coaching. Previous formal management experience is not required.
