IT Lead

  • On-site
    • Rotterdam, Zuid-Holland, Netherlands
  • €5,100 - €7,000 per month

Job description

Are you a technical IT professional who likes to roll up their sleeves and wants to lead a team? Do you enjoy solving a tough technical problem yourself as much as steering your team, vendors and projects? And do you want to keep TWD’s IT systems secure, reliable and future-proof? Then we are looking for you!

Foundations of Your Job

As IT Lead, you are the hands-on manager of our internal IT. Your mission: keeping our IT reliable and secure and improving it continuously, with a focus on security and infrastructure. You lead two IT colleagues, stay technically involved yourself and report directly to the Technical Manager. You translate the agreed IT plan into daily priorities and projects, manage our vendors and develop your team. You are responsible for internal IT across all our offices and work closely with our Software Engineering department. You work from our office in Rotterdam and occasionally visit our offices abroad. What you get in return: a compact team, visible impact and the freedom to make improvements happen yourself.

A glimpse of your responsibilities:

  • Leading and coaching two IT colleagues: setting daily priorities, distributing work and supporting their development

  • Analysing and solving complex incidents and configuration issues in networks, infrastructure and Microsoft 365 yourself

  • Keeping networks and infrastructure reliable across all our offices, including monitoring, capacity and up-to-date documentation

  • Improving cybersecurity with practical measures such as Microsoft Defender, managed devices (Intune, MDM/MAM) and secure access management

  • Governing identities and access rights in line with the IAM and PIM policy

  • Following up on security alerts and incidents with external partners, and providing the technical input for client audits and compliance

  • Turning the agreed IT plan into improvement projects and leading them from preparation to delivery

  • Managing vendors: monitoring SLAs and contracts, and handling licences, procurement and renewals

  • Ensuring good support and workable processes, including account management, and automating recurring work

  • Working with Software Engineering and department heads, and reporting on progress, performance and risks

What Makes You Great

As IT Lead at TWD, you are a hands-on leader: you give direction, trust your team to take ownership and grow, and dive into the technology yourself when needed. You think ahead, find simple solutions to complex challenges and tackle problems before they escalate. You build strong relationships with both technical and non-technical colleagues and communicate simply and effectively. You plan carefully, stay within budget and make sure IT projects deliver what was promised. You act with integrity, are pragmatic and keep up with new technology developments.

You are the perfect match for TWD if you also have the following skills and experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience

  • At least 5 years of experience in IT operations and infrastructure, including at least 2 years as a team lead, coordinator or project manager

  • Hands-on knowledge of networks, firewalls and switches, and experience analysing and solving complex incidents

  • Experience with Microsoft 365, workplace management and identity and access management

  • Good knowledge of cybersecurity and secure system management; experience with Microsoft Defender and Intune is an advantage

  • Experience managing vendors and handling contracts, SLAs and licences

  • Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus

Do you already have experience leading a small IT team, and do you want to stay technically active yourself? Then we warmly invite you to apply. At TWD you will have the room to shape this role yourself and to develop further as a leader.
